What Does a Parish Nurse Do?
- Educate on health and wellness
- Planning and organizing seminars, workshops and/or classes on wellness
- Counsel on health issue
- Meeting with church members to talk over health problems and answer questions.
- Identify and teach volunteers
- Finding and training lay volunteers to serve as visitors, program leaders, and other volunteer activities
- Act as liaison with community health organizations
- Keeping abreast of local resources, identifying suitable health care
- Clarify the close relationship between faith and health
- Talking to church members about spiritual issues
